Silver is 12 years old now (2026)
She was found on the streets with her 3 siblings. Silver has a gene, the famous Amber gene, that only some Norwegian forest cats have.
If I had known that earlier, I would have searched for a nice male, for a beautiful litter, but I took her to the vet and she got neutered, before her amber color showed up.

She and her siblings came to us, short time after we bought the farm.
My cats were dying, no reason to find, even the vet was desperate, cause she couldn't find the reason.
Luna had a litter at the time, 2 kitten, one died seconds after birth, the second had an open throat, we had to bring it to the vet
She had milk, no kitten, it was gruesome.
I wasn't even searching for kitten, but for furniture on finn dot no, the online marked in Norway.
And the first ad I saw was an emergency call for four kitten found on the street.
One call, we jumped into the car and picked up the kitten.
The woman, who had found them clearly had no clue, the kitten were at least 4 to 5 weeks old and able to eat.
Luna took over right away.
She was mom for 2 weeks, left the house, like she always did to pee and shit.
Only that she didn't came back
A friend found her2 days later, in the little cabin at the river, laying on a pillow, as if she was sleeping.
She was the last cat we lost in October 2013, much more were going to follow in 2014, again without a cause to find.
2 kitten found a new home, Silver and one sibling stayed with us.
That one was taken by the grim in October 2014 and with her many more cats.
October 2015 came and I watched my cats like a hawk, but luckily, nothing happened. I was very observant October 2015 and again, all was fine.
But there must be something with this farm and the month October.
My heart attack was in October 2024.
Her name Silver
She was the silver line, the shimmering hope, cause when I lost my very first Norwegian forest cat Lilith in 2014 (she was only 13 years old) she was there to help me through the pain.
