Funny !   :)

Icelandic - "Brjöstahaldari" - is the closest now active language to Ancient Nordic.
... and noone, except Icelanders, understand them.

And then Finnish - Rintalliivit - which is a language all on its own.
Stemming from the Finnish-Ugrian language branch it is not related to any of the Indo-European languages.

Kyllä varmasti !

Yes, Finnish is really something  :o  but I like their numbers, they sound so funny
yksi, kaksi, kolme  :))

With the Islandic, in written form, it's not so difficult to understand it, same as Norwegian for me.
Finnish - Norwegian - German
Brjöstahaldari - brystholder - Büstenhalter

... neljä, visi, kuusi, seitsemän, kahdhexan (kasi), ydhexän (ysi), kymmenen (kympi).  4 to 10.   :)

And now we are quite a long way from "bra"...

Just one more: Police

Norway and Denmark = Politi
Sweden = Polis
Finland = Poliisi
Iceland = Lögreglan

So Icelandic is ... yeah ... :)

Ok, maybe a bit far fetched, but "Lög" could mean law and reglan maybe ruler/controller, so we get a person who's controlling that all goes by law  :))

*woah* I just checked for lög and it's really law and regla means rule  :o
Oh, I so love to play with words and language.
