That's wonderful :)

If I will find myself facing a wall again, I sure will ask for help :)

A very cool and generous offer :)

OK - since I just signed up here, I'll ask a really tough (aka hard nut to crack) question right away:

Is it possible to limit weight mapping to the absolute minimum when rigging objects using the Transfer Tool... or possibly eliminate it (almost) entirely?

I'm currently working with GeoGratfs, so here's an example from this morning: I (tried) to replace the G9 ears with grafts (a little homage to Futurama). This works well with G9 as a basis, but when the graft is applied to other models (our beloved Victoria), the graft is distorted by the weight mapping and the great antenna ears become something that looks like a botched shish kebab ;)

Any ideas or tips?

Just forget about this: there are more things in DAZ that DON'T WORK than those that might work somehow :D

Of course there are more things not working, than things working.
DAZ was made to drive us crazy  :D

I have to admit,  I stopped upgrading Daz Studio around DS 4.16,   just before the volumetric stuff,  and Genesis 9 ,  I don't miss those things because I never used them.  I find G8F G8M to meet my needs mostly  and dforce and iray work very solidly by my usage at least.

My Studio is on 4.24 and I have some G9 stuff and things, cause I have some friends that create so beautiful things for G9 --- lurking around the corner, waving to Pushee-Ri and KuraiKya  :D

But otherwise, Topsy and a "new" guy soon, and both are G8 and with all the outfits and hairs, material for years to render.
G9 will soon be off the table, I bet daz is preparing for G10 and with this, as usual, they will come with new stuff, cause nothing from the other figures will fit.
Emptying the wallets from the users faster as any user can say STOP!

I'll stay with G8, that's for sure!

Just my two cents from a CC's perspective on the topic of G8/G9.

Since I primarily do promos, I usually work with 3/4, 1/2, or full portraits. What matters to me is the quality of the skin/eyes and the ability to refine facial expressions, even at the micro level. All of this is much more sophisticated in G9 than in G8.

I'm noticing this again when creating promos for GF8 SGM: even with oodles of lighting and desperate attempts to achieve some kind of non-wooden expression, it's all comparatively mediocre. Honestly!

Just imagine the promos for my DropLace, for example, with a GF8 figure. Much—if not all—would be lost.

So this is a little part of your secret, why all your promos are that professional.

But sorry, my favorite girl is Topsy  :D
