There are a number of experts on Internet that takes it a step further, proclaiming that "Internet is dead !".
Drowned by AI Slop that constantly feed the outlets with meaningless garbage, pointless clickbaits and floods of digital nonsense.
That The Internet has simply reached the end of the road.

Previously, we learned a mew word, which was "Enshittyfication" - with address to all commercialised social media.
Now we have to learn another word: "Slopification" - with adress to the same.

What it is at its core, is a numbers game.
Most slop is produced by people living in "third world countries" where a littyle money goes a longer way.
If the producers of slop manage to go viral or get a specific ammount of followers, they are rewarded by commercialised social media.
Either with direct payments or by monetising.
So, it's a numbers game.

And anxious portal owners are following suit, thinking they will otherwise be left behind.
So, the slop just keeps spreading...

Even search engines like Google is affected with nonsense infomation.
Their defence for this is that: "Well, mostly we are right, so what does it matter if we from time to time get it wrong?"

So what happens to us as humans when more and more of our knowledge is filtered through the AI systems ?
An open question I'm not going to try to answer, but think about it. Please.

Truth is that none of the big AI companies have yet found a lucrative enough business model for AI, so what are they doing ?
They shove AI-systems down our throats in every concievable way they can, saying it is necessary.
And for some reason we go for it, even though we never asked for it...

Meanwile, Generative AI keeps lying and hallucinating and consuming energy in the scale of whole countries.
So if you look at Gen AI as an environmental disaster, it is self-amplifing and most possible already has passed its threshold.

So - what to do about it ?
A "positive" scenario is that AI takes over The Internet and we find is so distasteful that we go somewhere else.
One solution is that we start looking for more human-to-human connections,
One possibility is to form smaller groups where the participants can be certain that the people they are talking to are real humans.
In that way we could move away from an AI-driven Internet to a human-driven Internet

You could of course argue that this forum is a smaller group - and you would be right. To a certain point.
But, the 5 page post before this is read 40.201 times as I write this.
So you tell me if it is read by 40.201 humans ..?

I really do like the idea of getting small groups together.

Yes, the AI bots love this forum, for what ever reason, but the amount crawling every piece of the forum is almost unreal.
