Ultimately it's about doing the right thing.

You know, I've been looking a bit into the AI-market, the Computer Games-market and the Steam-thing a bit and what I've found out is that none of them are no longer into users.
They're all in for the money !
The way they try very hard to snear people in their (obvious) scam-practices is nothing short of hillarious.
Do people actually fall for the sheit ..?

And the bonkers stuff happening in the PC-market...  WTF ?

I'm probably one of the lucky ones.
My workrig is Xenon-powered (midrange CPU) with 32 GB Ram and an nVidia 2070 - and airgapped to the Internet.
I'm running a very old (my decision) version of DAZ Studio that's a bit slow on rendering larger formats - BUT is gets the job done.

On the other hand, Photoshop CS6, After Effects CS5,5 and DaVinci Resolve 12.4 runs like clockwork !!

So don't get stressed out over not having the latest hardware (or software)  - or the latest Ai-enabled bullshit.
It's not about what the hardware is capable of.
It's a matter of what you do with the hardware and sofware you've got.

Don't you worry John :)

The only time I got stressed out was, when my wonderful Alienware gave up after only 10 years.
Now I have this gaming PC from Lenovo, it's doing its job and as long it is working, I will keep it :)

Unfortunately, dying is a common phenomena among hi-speced comps.
They may throw in a hi-end CPU, but then they go for cheaper, less durable stuff to keep the price tag down.
And profit up ..

I had a workstation classed Dell in history that just died on me.
Nothing could bring it back. It was complete and utterly toast.
Luckily I had all the important stuff on an external HD.

Since then I got myself second-hand and refurbed pro suff and they just keep on going.
Sturdier builds that keeps doing their thing and no crashes - except of course DS, which is quite frequent ...  :)
But that's a software crash and only happends to DS.

The workrig I mentioned before has a Japanese brand - but it's built in Germany.
Deutsche Qualität - you know ...

I'm not really sure about, that German quality still exists. But I know, what you mean :)

My Alien ware costs a fortune and in the end it was my fault, that it died. Started being lazy with changing the cooling liquid and somehow forgot it in the end at all.
So all the blame goes on me.

I don't have big problems with DS crashing on me, but oh my, Bryce for sure loves to crash, still these days, nothing has changed *sigh*

As I understand it, Bryce stll runs on raytracing renders - quite heavy on the CPU.
That and the fact that Bryce is one of those "forgotten" softs , among many others,  that doesn't get much love from the devs ... if any ...

Pitty the contenders are subscription only - and insanely expensive.
