So now people can churn out AI-generated Genesis (insert number here) textures left and right for those who want "unique textures for each character"

What Im asking myself is if this is interesting enough for Tafi to license/buy - or if it will be the usual DAZ mishap
where they try to build something similar (and break a lot of sheit in the process) ?
Shouldn't be that hard ...

And it is at times like this I'm very happy I stayed with my ancient version of DS.
You know - back when creativity actually mattered... :)

Well Shithub has jumped the AI band wagon long time ago, so it don't make me wonder, that someone with an AI profile picture and maybe even a fake account for the CEO is selling this crap.

I doubt, that Tafi will go over to shithub and ask this guy to buy him out.
Tafi is interested in making money and this isn't a way into money making.

I only wonder, when this AI seller will be sued for copyright infringement. When the marked will be filled with real celebrities in 3d format.
Or the people using it to create 3d figures looking like celebrities.
But then again, people can sell stolen stuff over there with almost no consequences.
Handle with care, I'm easy distracted with a woozy mind

It's already happening with pirated games characters (= stolen ip).

And speking of nothing ...
DAZ Studio 6 is released :

DAZ Studio 6

"Slight" drawback is that it demands an nVidia RTX 5000-series graphics card to run at all.
A 5060 (basic) can be had for 400 Euro and up - that is 4000 SEK/NKR for you and me, Nena.
Jump up to a "midrange" 5080 and you're suddenly looking at somewhere around 1500 Euro ( some 15 000 SEK/NRK).

... and you definitely need a more beefy powersupply that will raise your electricity bill noticable.

Anthother "slight" drawback is that it can not be installed off-line ...
But hey - there's an AI chatbot there, named Victoria .. :)
Surprise !!

You know... I've spent the most part of an evening reading about the betrayal at R-Hub on different forums, with all the twist and turns it has taken.
Then I read the formal excuse of an explanation Ion (CEO) had published .. and ... that man must be completely oblivious of the sheitstorm he has caused.
He seems to be utterly unaware that he has spent all the possible trust in him and R-Hub that may have existed by doing what he did.
I mean, how the f-word can he suddenly and without prior notice, pull the rug under so many creators and not expect a recoil ?
The replies he blurts out makes me think that he doesn't exist in the real world.
Rather I get the impression of an AI-bot ...
The stupidity is nothing short of monumental.
It's like trying to have a logic debate with Donald Trump !! (which is impossible per definition).

Then the launch of Daz Studio 6 ..
A software that craves an nVidia graphics card from the RTX 5000-series ($$$) to run at an acceptable performance.
And you can't do an off-line installation.
You have to do it via DIM, which means you have to be connected to The Internet !

I spent an f-word lot of time sifting through forum discussions, comments, redit posts and whatnots.
What I did was trying to find some specs on system requirements.
You know - CPU, RAM, GPU and that kind of stuff, but I could not find even one specification anywhere.
The only info I could get was like "the sky is the limit".
Nothing !
And you didnt believe DAZ would be of service, did you ?
Its a bloody scam, it is.

And how does it perform ?

Not what I expected !

Bottom line, what this evening of trying to find relevant info ended with was me being more confused than ever and with a massive headace bordering migrane.

... and after all quite happy with the ancient (and stable) version of DS I currently use and the Photoshop CS6 I actually own.

Laters !

You have game characters (and assets) and celebrity lookalikes all across numerous DAZ marketplaces. I don't know how they get away with it, given things change when you put a price tag on it (I'm guessing the interested parties don't know or don't care), and I say this as someone who's bought a number of those just so I can churn out some fanart here and there - which, interestingly enough, are the renders that get the most likes. Most of the handful of Renderhub shares have been fanart as well.

I think right now it's the community that's keeping people there more than anything else. The administration sure as heck ain't keeping people there.

Agree !
The community will stay at least as long as it takes to dl the free stuff.
Some vendors have given a deadline for when they will take their store down - and then ... "We'll see, said the Zen Master"  :)

// Just read that Pushee-Ri will take down his store because of crossing of red lines.
In his own words: Kommst du mir dumm, komme ich dir dümmer ! ( if they come low - I come even lower ) //

Thank you both for the reminder.

I just sent a mail to the legal from shithub, to open my account, so I can dl all my bought items and my render and what I loaded up into the store.
I asked the last time in February, with no response at all.
Now I gave them a time limit of 7 days, before I will seek legal advice and help.

Good for Pushee that he sat his foot down.
This CEO crossed the red line more than once, it's in time that people will tell him, what they think about his actions.

Hope it all goes well for you and you don't have to go to legal measures to have your account back.
On the other hand, it may very well be that it will have to be some kind of legal intervention, considering their mindset.

But I think in the light of everything that we will have to find European aternatives to building communities - such as this very forum.
My contribution is very modest to say the least, but it will not come as a surprise to you that for me personally:

* R-hub is out !
I left on my own (put my foot down) already when R-hub wasn't any longer an AI-free zone.
I had assurances it would never happend from the very staff of R-hub - but it did.
That was a betrayal for me personally already then.
How could they expect me to trust them any more after that ?

*DAZ Studio 6 is definitely not for me !
A bad decision from DAZ and poorly executed.
A non-professional tool they want to treat as a professional asset, putting vital parts of it behind a paywall.
I've always said that DS is so crappy it should remain a free soft - and the bar has not been raised with version 6.
Features have been broken since forever and they haven't done diddly to address them.

I didn't even consider Genesis 9, 'cause I saw it as a money grabbing scam all along.

Lycky enough I'm not dependent on selling products, since Im not in that kind of market.
I do image work and for that i only need the version of DS I currently have and Photoshop CS6 - which I actually personally own.

So R-hub and DAZ can piss off !

Well, haven't gotten any answer, maybe they are pretty busy with other legal stuff, that could break some necks.
I gave a limit, 7 days, after that it will cost him. For every day and every single render.

As I said before, the forum is open and will stay for honest people. I don't hold a grudge against anyone. And those, I don't wanna see here, well, no biggie, I will just delete the ones, that were mean against me. The private rats from this CEO.
But I'm sure, those won't show up anyway :)

Which probably spawned the latest mess the site is going through, depending on which story you believe - they've put out several.

At this point, I think the community is the only thing really keeping people there.

I've yet to give DS6 a try, and at I feel like if I got into Gen9, they'd unveil G10 (which may or not be AI-based). Still over here getting plenty out of G8.

That's the point, too many stories and one isn't better than the other. He is going to break his own neck!

Genesis 8 is an improved version of G3 - anyways, that's what's said about the model on various forums and a large body of users.
If it really is so is up for debate ...
Can't say anything about it since I've never used G3.
In any ways, I doubt I'll have use for anything else than G8. Both F and M.

What I've seen of G9 is a sheitload of dials, but no actual improvement in the model.
The "advatage" is that G9 and most assets built for it uses larger texture maps - and wether that is an advantage or not can be debated.
Put some high-res morphs on a G8 character and up the sub-divisions to 3 or 4 globally and G8 can very well rival G9.
I can't see any visual difference between G8 and G9 in published artwork.

Any response now that those 7 days are well gone?
