All this sales at daz

.... and all you can chose from is G9  >:(

If they wanna have my money, they have to show some G8 as well.
Or come with some really fantastic environment, that don't already exist in my runtimes in multiple forms.

I have so many furniture, rooms, houses and so on, I can kitbash this stuff til the end of the days and it will never be the same.

Why do I even look at all these pages (daz, rosity and so on) while owing several terrabyte of stuff.

And when I think this way --- what in heaven are we doing different with our little store, but reinventing the wheel again and again and again  :(
What was I thinking, I mean serious, giving you all some hope for a sale or two, while customers are not even looking at our store?

I'm a dreamer right? Nothing but a stupid dreamer.

You do have a point, why buy something,   if most of us already have a version of it in your runtime.

A room is a room,   and a kitchen is a kitchen.

I never look at Gen9 content.  I stopped at Genesis8  I will never buy a new generation beyond 8.   I have been buying content  since DazStudio was number v1.8 so - V3- M3 days,  have a ton of V4/M4, Genesis1, Genesis2 Genesis3, Genesis8.  Tons of hair,  tons of clothes. But if the price is right there are still a few OOT hairs I plan to grab.

But environments,  that is a different story.  Places to tell the story.  I do have plenty of those too,   but very once in a while there is a unique one that catches my interest.  There is a bookstore at renderhub,   that I'm hoping will go on sale, one of these days.

Right, and I doubt, that there is that amount of new people like the time, we were in, heaven, I also have V2  ;D
And now, with money so short, that everyone is turning the dime around ten times before using it. And of course our biggest enemy, AI, standing at every single corner.

I think, I bought almost every part for UltraScenery and haven't even used 1% of it. Material for years to come.
There is still Bryce (my first 3d love) and the very first Terragen.

Books, I have plenty of rooms with books and one I just couldn't resist is the book nook https://www.daz3d.com/book-nook
So many ideas and possibilities and the dream, to have something like this for real.

They really want you to forget about G8.

As for the other assets, I don't know what's more fascinating - all the things that are available or all the things that aren't.

@Mkdawuss:

Well, then DAZ will have to wait seven years until G8 slips into second place :D

Unless, of course, G10 comes out in the meantime - then it will take even longer ;)

If they want to make us forget about G8 (or G9 for that matter), G10 better be something truly spectacular. Eventually, both G8 and G9 will show their age, just as M4 and V4 did.

I know someone from 'rotica who also sells on RH, who mainly rendered/produced with GF3 (!) two years ago - and the promos are brilliant because he has developed his own unique style and color scheme. It's adult stuff - but it's worth taking a look at the promos.

What I'm trying to say is: DAZ would have to work very hard to bring such improvements to the market with a G10 compared to 8, 9 (and yes: even 3) for the G10 to take the top spot. Honestly... I don't know how they could do that.

G8 is really just G3 with some updates and re-posed to the A pose when it was made universal.  The real unsung hero / heroine is the g3 figures.

There was a time when the Daz/Poser marketplaces were thriving,   that time has passed,  and unfortunately will never come back.

Please, let's not forget that DAZ is no longer DAZ as we once knew it,
DAZ is Tafi now and most of what DAZ/Tafi do is market strategy.
Squizing out the most money possible from a product.
It's no longer about art and users.
It's all about shareholders and profit (and f-word the rest).

Tafi

Right, but sadly they still have this bloodhound R. in the forum, deleting all, that's not good for daz or goes against their opinion.

Ah yes...
The resident annoying prick.

Unfortunately the DAZ Forum hasn't impoved in the last ten years (if ever).
You know, I visited said forum about ten years ago and I immediately left, since it was utterly useless.
Never returned.
And you know what ?
I have survived without it !!

Tell you a "secret" here ..  well, it's not really a secret ...

I still use an ancient version of Studio !
One that's pre 4.20 and respects the original version of Ghost Lights.
Yes, I know Ghost Lights was an nVidia-thing but I still run that particular driver.

But then again, I'm not a vendor of stuff for DAZ characters.
My interest is artwork.

And the work comp - The Big Rig - is airgapped from the Internet, because I want to decide when and what to "upgrade".

I never went beyond DS4.16 for exactly the ghostlights reason.  I got tired of having to re invent and relearn a new bunch of settings for each new generation.  Genesis7-8 is as far as I will ever go,  and whatever is currently working in 4.16 is good enough for my needs.

Now I do have 4.21 installed on another computer for testing purposes,
