Just a glimpse of the NSFW world ...

In a gallery I attended, I discovered they had a non-erotic section.
So I submitted this image -> Wreck

And the comment I got:
"Maybe a sexy lady was aboard ... "

WTF !!??
And how the hell is your head screwed on ?
Sideways ? Upside down ?

Speaks volumes about the NSFW world ...

I think that's a cool shipwreck  and the desert sands evoke questions of environmentalism and the slow encroachment of nature. 

I am certainly limited with no deep knowledge of the "not safe" world. yet,  Certain markets have certain expectations.  It is difficult to change an audience's opinion. Does that gallery cater to a specific type of viewer?

Doesn't matter, it's an empty head, no brain there to use.

My first question would had been: Bryce or Vue? And the second: Are the birds in the back Ron's?

I like the atmosphere, the colors and the story that could be in there, cause: How the heck got that wreck into the desert?

Neither.
The ship is a 3D model, rendered in DS (actually, it is the Vasa)
Environment is an image composite in Photoshop.

*wow* just by the atmosphere I thought it's a Bryce never would had guessed it's an image.
A lot of work then, you've put into it.

Ron's brushes, oh how I remember the very first fast grabs and his brushes for a buck. I really was a brush hunter back then   :D

Took a couple of days to complete.
Could have finished it earlier but I wanted it to convey a certain vibe.

So, the dunes are 2 desert stock images merged.
The ship is a 3d model,
The dead trees are cutouts from another desert stock image and the shadows are painted in, since there were none.
The palm trees are from a collection of stock images - basically the same palm tree copied 3 times and arranged a bit differently.
Sky is basically a Solid Colour layer with some noise.
Clouds are from a stock collection of PNGs (with transparency).
And all the birds present are Ron's Brushes.
Finished off with a Colour Balance and a slight vignette.

So there you have it.

Since I have used Photoshop in a professional capacity in history (product photographer) I have collected a great ammount of resources over time.
So I have a large collection of Ron's brushes and other brushes that might come in handy.
Ron's stuff is second to none.
Period !

I happend to be in the awsome situation that I'm retired and live pretty well off my pension.
So - that means I'm paid regurarely every month by my country's pension system to do what ever the hell I want.

But I'll leave you now for a couple of days, because I need to work on my latest project and thus leave some space for someone else to do the talking.
I've already taken up more than enough space with my blabbing.

But I'm gonna leave with something for you all to analyze:

Oh sorry, I totally forgot, even though I looked at it so many times.
Good that you gave the topic a push.

What I came up with is:
Ruins rendered in studio, not so sure about the two humans, even though the light on her right shoulder tells, it's rendered.
But his shadow, without a "break" without a shift over/at the stone makes it look as if placed into the render and shadows are postwork.
The sky, for me definitive a photo or other background material.

Did I come close in any point? Or did I fail complete?

You are on the right track there.

BUT - the forum is not only you ...

There are a number of members signed up and all with one thing in common:
Defening silence !

So, I'm not impossible.

There is a critical mass to any endeavour,  and wall flowers unfotunately remains a human trait.  And sometimes, silence is the  comfortable option.

Nice job on the temple ruins render.  I have that model,  think it was one of first 20 purchases  way back when.  Definite classic,  and detail wise still holds up pretty well.
