If it matters ... it matters / Re: daz selling obvious AI crap
Last post by Nena -
Easy explained, you won't train AI with AI crap, cause it can only get worse.
Some say, this way, AI will kill itself exactly this way, by training itself with itself, so in he end, the user will get useless crap answers and products and pictures --- well crap on anything.

It's sneaking it's way in at daz, at rosity and anywhere else.
It's just a matter of time, that the stores will become obsolete and the vendors as well.

Get yourself some Champagne and Caviar, sit back and enjoy the show  :))
A Coke and Popcorn will do as well  8)

Btw. if you know people, who would like to join here, you are free to invite them  :)

One thing I've noticed is AI sneaking its way into DS assets are in-scene graphics and images. Logos and pictures and such. Some of that can be tolerable to a degree, but others just have me going, ".........really?" Like, this picture (not something resembling a painting, BTW) on the wall over here could have been a render, not some poorly-generated AI image.

I did get a slight chuckle the other day over a product that was made using AI - clearly stated, BTW - but refused (for what it's worth) permission for AI to train off it. Make that one make sense.

Yeah, the TG5 is "yesterday" and now replaced by TG7.
And the price of a second hand is close to when I bought it brand new.
The TG7 is quite a lot more expencive, but is it better ?
I doubt that ...

Added to it - it's a tough little thingy.
You can drop it in straight down in the pavement from around 2 meters.
Without anything added, you can take it down under water to a depth of 15 meters as is.
So it's thoroughly weather sealed. Dustproof, waterproof, sandproof, freezeproof, you name it.
It is built to handle with no care at all.

I had it with me in my pocket when I went to Rome for 15 days.
All I had was that one and two spare batteries - in another pocket.

I took 1600 images with it and made 8 photobooks of that journey.

It also records video in 1080p.
It can do 4K, but I've never tried it.
I don't want to fry the batteries ... :)

... and yes, the old 13x18 cm "travel" cam is made of cherry wood.

Daz Studio / Lights in daz studio
Last post by Nena -
Centuries ago I bought a pool at rosity, a Poser product, so you can imagine, what that means for daz studio.
Lots of work

I changed a lot of materials (marble and metals, water and more) but most important and tricky was the light.
Used a mirror with emission settings, since it's a studio product, but the ceiling needed work.
First implied an emission shader (Poser didn't had it back then, don't know about now) the luminance with 2.900 was ways too low, so I pushed it up. Still not ready to render, and in the render settings I changed the Tone Mapping to a not so white white (0.80 for all 3 values) and the by default value 13 for Exposure went down to 10.
After the render I slightly changed the Curve Point a tiny little bit higher.

I like the outcome  8)

It amazes me, that no special settings on the cam are necessary to get such a result.
Let me say it with Spock: Fascinating!

If you would be a salesman for Olympus, I bet you would the best sellers from all!

Olympus has been my favorite since ever, got my first over 30 years ago.

About the photo, I really love the light, gives the wood a touch of cherry tree (or maybe it is cherry tree?)
Wonderful soft and clean, just beautiful.

Same light and same camera as in First, but different subject.
