Go woke, go broke

Daz had an amazing gift for me today, 200 dollar for shopping.
Bad thing, my wishlist is growing again, as always, when scrolling through almost 400 pages.

Good thing, it reminded me to make my own blacklist for vendors, that jumped on the bandwagon of the disgusting gender idiocy.

Pregnant men, women with beard and more of this crap.

As for now these are the daz vendors, who thought it would be smart to jump on that wagon.
Esid
FenixPhoenix
Changeling Chick
Amaranth
Muscleman

Of course it's their right to do so, if they believe in this crap.
But so is my right to blacklist them.
I feel sorry for them. They have missed the minimum education and for sure have missed the BIOLOGY lessons.

I take it you also do the same for those who work AI into their MPs?  ;)

It ain't my thing either (I see way more females with male add-ons than I'd like in the adult 3D galleries), but in 3D world it can sometimes come in handy if you want opposite-gendered relatives, like brothers and sisters, or dads and daughters. There is the belief that G9 was made for the whole "disgusting gender idiocy" thing in mind (G8 had a few add-ons that could get you similar results).

My DAZ OS wishlist has shrunk to like 14 items, and I could probably clean a good portion of that the next time they have another simple, sitewide 50%+ sale. I could probably take some things off it if I went through it a bit closer.

If it would be easy to spot, yes I would.

I have absolute nothing against any gay/lesbian stuff in the stores, but pregnant men, full bearded women?
Nope, that's one too far.

You're for sure right with G9. From Victoria to the last Victoria before Genesis and Michael as well, it was clear, what was female and what was male. Up to G8, the 3d world was "normal" (beside some freaks *lol*)
Well, daz has made many mistakes in the past and we will see more coming, as long as this company exists.

I almost envy you, my wishlist grew a lot. Ok, most of the stuff won't never end in my card, it's there as a reminder for what I would like to do. Right now there are 243 items sitting in the list :D

Yeah sometimes you end up noticing it when it's a bit too late. I bought one environment set where every image was AI-generated (the poor stuff where it's blatantly obvious and completely unusable). I wound up needing to produce replacement renders, but this time for a different reason. Another environment set used a prop that had an AI-generated logo on it (again, the unusable kind), and that one requires either a replacement prop or photoshop skills. Some clothing sets use AI-generated logos of varying quality, which may or may not be easy to catch in the promos.

Some of it was due to me not moving on to G9, greatly reducing the likelihood of new additions to the WL, some of it was due to me finding similar stuff elsewhere, and some of it was to me realizing I'm probably not going to do anything with it having sat there in the WL so long.

Oh my, at rosity, a pack of backgrounds?
If so, I think, I know, which vendor you bought from. His buildings and vehicles, I liked them a lot and bought many.
Now I just can wish, that those wasn't done with AI.
I wrote to the admins about the puppy and kitten picture, the vendor is selling. No reaction at all and that was, before they allowed it  inofficial.

Problem is, it gets harder and harder to spot the AI and as long people aren't honest, we are lost.

Oh, these items sitting there for "since ever", I delete them from time to time.
daz is losing for sure big times on me, I don't buy any G9 either :D
I would like to buy from rosity, but even for 50% off, it has become ways too expensive, thanks to the stupid price policy.

Serious, what's wrong with the people?

Don't answer, the question is rhetorical.

Of course it's the fast money, why so many jump on this dirty AI band wagon.
Now Powerage is doing it officially too.
https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/171561/post-apocalyptic-kit-for-daz-studio

If it will be this way in the future, I can't buy a thing anymore. Wouldn't be the worst *lol*

Take meshy.ai as example, when new and buying an account, it's 16 dollar a month. There are more benefits, but I spare you this, you can take a look at this site yourself.
So people can create 4 x 3d items a day, and then sell it for freaking 25 dollar or more at rosity, daz and where ever.
We're talking here about focking fast money, made with no effort at all, except writing some prompts.

No Powerage is on my "don't by from this vendor" list as well.

On the topic of jumping on the AI-bandwagon for the quick and easy buck:

I'm sorry to see that a fellow contryman of mine (and one of the best selling DAZ vedors) Waldemar Belwon - or Val Cameron as he calls himself for some reason - has also gone all in on the AI-thing.
His trademark is Dreamlight.
https://www.renderhub.com/dreamlight/hot-hdri-sets-system-core-daz-studio
https://www.renderhub.com/dreamlight/hot-hdri-sets-total-eclipse-daz-studio
... and of course - selling his sheit on R-hub.

In the beginning of things he was using LightWave but he is not that skilled as to do what he's currently selling, so AI is the "perfect shortcut".

I've been a bit suspicious of this guy for some years as to what he really is and I had confirmation last year:

I saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YN85WbD4HQ
and wrote a comment under it, his replay was lame and so I wrote a bit more:

Praising AI? Serious? I'm so disappointed!

That's your right. I'm old enough to remember when people said the same things about digital art, Photoshop, and 3D graphics. Technology keeps moving forward, and I'm curious to see where it leads.

What do you think, how many people will need and buy all your wonderful tutorials in the future?
AI will replace all you've mentioned and more.
People always were eager to have the make-art-button, not willing to learn any skill.
AI is exactly that, a make-art-button.
And to support that, I think, it's the fastest way to lose big times in the end :(

Never got an answer on that. Of course, how could he *lol*
I took the possibility to attack me, cause I praised his tuts, it's hard to attack when you get praised *evil grin*

Selling at daz and shit-hub as well, running his own page with this expensive club, selling "knowledge" and (I have the bad feeling) seeing himself as the guru of light and render.

Honestly, I think we have lost the race against AI.
Powerage is selling now AI at rosity for high prices and I bet, there are many more.
Good thing is, I have so much 3d stuff, that I really don't need to buy anymore.
Simple cloth I can create with MD, not necessarily but I could.

Yes, back in the days as a 3D fresher, I watched some of his "tutorial videos" and browsed the "classes" he offered.
Immediately got the sense that all that mattered for Waldemar was making money.
The "tutorials" wasn't really all that well planned and too many times he managed to crash DS - which isn't hard to do for anyone.

After hearing him repeat for the umpteenth time that he had worked as a camera man for two decades in the adult indutry, I grew tired of him and ignored him as yet another salesman of sheit.
I mean, after all, I've been a photograper since the 70's but I find no need to rub it in on folks.

Nahhh, in my opinion Waldemar Belwon - aka Val Cameron - and Dreamlight is yet just another con artist, relying on old merits.
I'm definitely anything but impressed.

PS: The lighting solutions he proudly presents are not really that hard to replicate.. :)

Of course he is just after the money.
His tuts aren't really helpful, I tried to work after one or two.

And all his hdri crap he is selling like crazy. I rather build an entire environment than using hdri, ending up with pictures, where the dimensions are just wrong.
People ways too big for the room or the nature around, wrong shadows or no shadows at all, cause people don't know, how to work with deep map or the other shadow, given in Studio/Poser.
But hey, the make-art-button is just around the corner.

And than there is Lordi (rosity) giving away his amazing tutorials for Bryce for FREE, absolutely free and help via mail is included.
Only sad point, it's written in German, so no use for people, who can't understand German.
But than again, it's pdf and easy to translate.
For anyone, who wanna take a look anyway:
Bryce tuts German

No, Waldemar won't get any dime from me and no Øre either!

Not one öre from me either.

Most of his stuff is crap. I never bothered with the HDRI-stuff and the models are ready-made scenes.
Meaning you either go with stuff as is or the whole thing will quickly fall apart.
It is made for one scene and one scene only.
The rest is mostly textures for Stonemason's models.

So far I have only found use for one (1) model, but I had to do a lot of cleaning up in DS and tune it all in Photoshop.
It's the model (photogrammetry) of the Regal Ship Wasa :

The only thing 3D in this image is the ship itself.
Everything else are stock images, photoshop magic and brushes.

I love this picture!

That's something I would love to do in Bryce, the terrain including.
Maybe I'll try something like that when I'm back (going on Monday to Denmark, coming back the following Sunday)

Waldemar (Val Cameron) has always been keen on shortcuts and with AI I guess he's found the ultimate...

The new buzzword from nVivia seems to be DLSS in it's current iteration 5.
Meaning - you can build sloppy 'cause DLSS5 will fix it for you.
All yoou need is a DLSS-enabled graphics card ($$$$) :

The gist I got from that video (right or wrong) was "Your DAZ render sucks, AI will make it so much better!"

Spot on!
