This is beyond perverted!

And people who don't know, will chat with an AI, believing the friend is still alive.
Disgusting if this AI will be used for such a soulless fraud!

If you don't know (which has happened to me, albeit rarely - found some some people on the friends list passed away months ago), something will probably feel a bit off, and if you do, there's going to be a frightening shock, followed by a "WTF?" confusion and outrage.

Luckily, I'm not at fb and never will be, so this scary thing won't happen to me.
But who knows, where this will be implemented too.

After my infarct I made a list with PW, pages like here and rosity, where I know people and of course my mail account, so my sons can inform people, if something should happen to me.

I hate this "not knowing if" and I don't want anyone going through this, wondering if I'm still alive or not.
And if I should have a reason for not being online, like vacation, I will give the message.

Having multiple ways of reaching someone is a good idea, but now that you mention it, so is having someone who can reach others in the event you can't.

I'm on Facebook - it's where a lot of people I'm close to are on (and the main way of reaching them, though I do have others for the ones who matter), and the closest I've seen to that sort of thing was when a deceased person had his account hacked before permanently vanishing a few hours later.

This piece of crap compares  humans with AI? This is the lowest at all  >:(

My part of the family, that lives in Germany, they are all on facebook and if I wouldn't avoid fb anyway, this is reason enough for me, to not having an account there  :))

*woah* this is bad, really bad, If AI or human, hacking an account from a deceased one is evil!

To the list, I've said it long years ago and people laughed and called me crazy -- of course, I got used to it.

I don't agree with the soldiers, they will replaced much faster.
Good thing is, the next war will be fought with branches.
Surgeons are already replaced, same with doctors, just look direction China and Japan.
Coders? These AI are already coding themselves.
Artists, of course, it happens already on a daily base.

So to sum it up, the list is outdated  8)

And fucked up --- I think, without any doubt, we are fucked!

Yeah sure, as if fuckerberg ever got a patent to avoid a future usage.

Quote
Meta was granted U.S. Patent No. 12,513,102 B2 on December 30, 2025, for an AI system that simulates a user's social media activity using a large language model (LLM).  The patent, titled "Simulation of a user of a social networking system using a language model", describes training the AI on a user’s historical data—including posts, comments, likes, messages, and interactions—to enable it to respond to content, engage with friends, and potentially simulate audio or video calls even after the user’s death.

The system is designed to maintain engagement during prolonged absences or posthumously, with Andrew Bosworth, Meta’s Chief Technology Officer, listed as the primary inventor.  Despite the patent’s approval, Meta has stated it has no plans to develop or deploy this technology, emphasizing that patents are often filed defensively to protect ideas rather than indicate future product plans.

This evil bastard will only protect one thing and that is his money!
And read clearly, it's written:

Not fuckerberg, not Andrew Bosworth, Meta’s Chief Technology Officer but Meta, a product, a script or call it whatever you want.

If Meta  has no plans to develop or deploy this technolog, then why the need for a patent ?
Of course they do !

Lucky I got out of Suckerhell since a good number of years ago and deleted all my posts I could get to in the process.
Where the fuck is this (gestures vaguely at everything) going..?

As, who ever wrote it, to prevent misuse.
That this is a big fat lie, no reason to discuss that.

Still, this one question, the big elephant in the room.

How can Meta plan or not plan? Meta isn't a human, not even a persona, it's a technically thing.
My alarm for sure went of, when I read that.
Or is Meta an already on itself acting AI and has replaced the fuckerberg and his crew?
