Bryce is a 3D legend of sorts.

Metacreation Bryce 4 was one of the first 3D softwares I ever used, aside from videogame editting tools.

While looking for a Bryce update version I stumbled onto a new program call DazStudio 1.8 .

Same here, the very first 3d program I ever used was Bryce and with that I found daz studio, and a bit later Poser 4.
Oh my and now I feel soooooo freaking old  :))

Then, my dear, what does that make me ?

I started my 3D journey with Bryce 2 and a bit later I got Poser 2 from a mag.
The only figures in Poser back then was a feeble versions of Posette and "Dork", so this was pre Vicky 4 and all of that jazz,

I also began Photoshop with ver 3.2 and followed it along until CS6 - where I stopped and never hopped on the CC vagon (which I'm happy about today, considering the evil ways Adobe is practicing now)

Noooo, not was does it make you!
You're young as can be and wanna be  :)
Same for me, sometimes I feel old as the stone age and then young like the new day :)

If it wouldn't be for all my filters, I would have dumbed adobe a long time ago.
I still have my CS5 and for sure won't jump the robbing train, rather I stop using my filters and Gimp will be my only friend then.

I just don't like all this subscription crap and will never do!

The CS5 is a perfectly good version.
Think I stll got CS 5.5 somewhere ...  (rumbling about in the bookshelf) ... Oh yes, here it is !!

I did a test run of Gimp 3.0.6, mostly because I have a German friend who's on Linux.
I'm sorry to say but Gimp drove me up the wall.
It was like being taken aback to the old and "bad" days of how Photoshop worked.
And the Brush Engine was a joke ...  I'm sorry to say.

In this thread - Affinity - I hinted at a free post process soft that rivals Adobe in 3 major fields.
But ... well, see for yourself.

... and then there's always Krita.

Not that it has anything to do with Bryce ...

*lol* yes, Gimp can drive you nuts, but since I use PS only for light enhancement, brushes and filters, it wouldn't be the biggest deal for me.
But I won't give up my filters  :))  so PS it will be.

I've tried Krita once, don't know, if I could use my filters in it (and I really doubt it, since those are special for PS *sigh*)

Well, saving a Bryce render and opening it for postwork with one of these programs ... yes, it has something to do with Bryce  :))
